Press Release: Proposition 37 Campaign Launches Statewide Paid Advertising Effort

Sacramento, CA – Today, the Yes on 37 campaign has launched their first statewide paid ad, which will run on broadcast, cable and digital platforms across California. The eight figure buy, set to run through Election Day, features middle class Californians including teachers and nurses, as well as California’s former Chief Economist – all urging Californians to vote YES on Prop 37.

“Proposition 37 creates middle class home loans without any cost to taxpayers,” said Brad Williams, California’s former Chief Economist. “It’s a common sense measure with broad support from teachers, nurses, business groups and housing advocates across the state.”

Prop. 37 unlocks homeownership for more middle-class families by making it possible to buy a new home with just 3% down, while spurring a wave of new home construction across the state – all at no cost to taxpayers. The measure also helps address California’s housing affordability crisis by incentivizing new single family home construction and increasing the supply of brand new homes. Prop 37 is expected to spur construction of more than 190,000 new homes, generating significant economic benefits throughout the state.

“Prop 37 lowers the cost of buying a home for working Californians,” said Katie Rodger, President of UCAFT (University Council-AFT), and Lecturer at UC Davis.
