Sacramento, CA – The final PPIC poll ahead of Election Day shows widening support for Proposition 37, with 65% of voters saying they would vote for the measure that will lower the cost of buying a home, making homeownership more affordable for Californians, with zero cost and zero risk to taxpayers. Robert Hertzberg, former Assembly Speaker and Senate Majority Leader, also the proponent of Proposition 37, issued the following statement following the release of the poll:
“Proposition 37 is a commonsense solution that not only makes home ownership more affordable, but increases the housing supply at the same time. With broad, bipartisan support from housing advocates, social justice organizations, veterans, teachers and business groups, it’s clear that Californians are eager for a solution that will finally give middle class families a clear shot at homeownership. Today’s numbers reflect that support. We have worked tirelessly for years to find policies that will make housing more affordable and we’re proud that voters agree Prop 37 is the answer.
It’s encouraging to see that more than two thirds of voters support the measure, but we remain focused on ensuring voters are casting their ballots so that we can roll up our sleeves and get to work implementing Prop 37 after Election Day.”
Prop 37 makes housing more affordable by increasing housing supply, creating an estimated 190,000 new housing units across California, at absolutely no cost to taxpayers.
